Ford GT40 chassis number GT40 P/1017 :
General info:
The first car was named the GT (for Grand Touring) with the 40 representing its overall height of 40 inches (1.02 m, measured at the windshield) as required by the rules. Large displacement Ford V8 engines (4.7 liter and 7 liter) were used, compared with the Ferrari V12 which displaced 3.0 liter or 4.0 liter.

I Have three pictures of gt40 p 1017 at the goodwood festival of speed this year
My dads friend owns GT40 1001 and GT40 1017. They were handmade and are original. He says Ford is willing to pay $60 million for each car but he doesnt want to sell either. Are these cars really valuable? Or is he lying?
Thanks for your response in advance
These cars are really valuable but in the 2 to 5 million range not 60 million, So I think he is going a bit over board in the value of his cars.
